I have started working on my 'bars' chroming ,ad cleaning up that area on my EGC. My question to you guys, is I have thought about putting the fairing mount mirrors on mine like a StreetGlide, but I want to know if I can eliminate that piece that holds the present mirrors on now?? I had seen a bike that he had done this, but left those pieces on, and it didnt look good in my opinion, because they were just there with holes and crud, and dirt......If anybody here has pics that would be great!
Some of my other ideas are (I like contrast) was to leave my switch house covers black, and just make the switch covers chrome....just to be different....anybody with pics of that???
I have the holes for my mirrors too on my Street Glide. Iusedchrome plated bolts locknuts and washers
to fill the holes. Worked great. Any chrome plated or S.S. bolt will work.
The mirrors just mount to the lever brackets. Take the stock mirrors off, clean the mount and if they are scratched from the mirrors being mount use some black touch-up paint. Then use some ss bolts and go through the bottom and cap them with chrome acorn nuts. Or you could go to Lowes or any other hardware store and get some small black rubber plugs to put in the holes.
