I got mine from these guys before they started charging the handling and bearing press fee for 200.23 to my door. Now their up to about what Zanotti charges.
Kinda figured the free bearing press wouldn't last.
When I talked to them on the phone, the girl said, "this sure has been a popular part" and "we are not charging to press the bearing YET".So, I'm not surprised either. Just glad I made up my mind when I did. No regrets so far.
I installedthe IDS today on my 07 FLHTC. To preface this, I didn't think I had much of a problem to start out with. My upgrade to pipes/AC/PCIII made a big difference in power down low at the 2000rpm range. I did hear some driveline noise and valve clatter, but this is my first Harley so I wasn't sure how much was driveline and how much was valve noise. Add to that, the fact that I am coming off a Honda Valkyre.. a very busy engine with lots of valve noise and lots of transmission noise from all square cut gears.
So, easy install. Took about 2 hours taking my time. Some pics posted here helped a lot. But very straight forward. I also installed my Wallys Cycle Road oil temp guage, so that took me another hour. I took the whole morning.
There is an immediate noticed improvement as soon as I took off. Nice upgrade, slightly less noise, I guess I didn't have as much noise as some other guys anyway. Now I can tell that all the remaining noise is valve noise.
it's a great bike and now, I am really liking it. Took it out all day today, gorgeous mid seventies day here in New England at the bike stayed about 190'F all day per the WallyCycleWorld meter. Which is also a really nice upgrade! Thank God that air temp guage is gone!!! What an insult that thing is. What was the MOCO thinking on that one?
I paid more for the parts and install than most of you did. I'm still not sorry I went ahead with it. What an improvement!!
Without a doubt, this is the bigest improvement to my Street Glide so far. Pfft & I sure have spent more than I ever thought I would..
