91-94 degree day after 90 plus miles of back roads, two up,oil temp was 210, 47 MPG I haven't seen my oil temp over 230 ever, but I'm only reading the dipstick when I stop
Bull, I understand what you are saying, BUT...think for a minute....If you had this problem (excessive heat from motor) on a new car you just purchased, what would you expect a dealer to do when you return it for service? I know I would expect them to FIX it under warranty. The TC96 is hot, so HOT IT BURNS ONES THIGHS. That is UNACCEPTABLE. As bad as the auto industry is, they would have to take care of the problem or face being sued.
You don't see Chevy, Ford, Lexus or Toyota customers running into dealers with credit cards and cash in hand to fix the auto makers problems, do you?You spend money on your ride for comfort and performance BECAUSE YOU WANT TO...NOT, because the product is flawed.
Buy a Star Raider..................other than that some of the previous posts have hit on this issue, no one should have to spend as much as they do on a new HD and have to worry about getting burnt. Yes it is an EPA mandated issue and it's because HD does not want to ad catalyst to the exhaust system and other plumbing to keep it cool with the lean fuel mixtures. That given the perhasp HD should install the heat sheilds, oil coolers and run synthetic for their customers. I love the HD brand but they need to meet the owners part way until they resolve there engineering issues. btw I keep hearing about 07s are the 08s any better, worse same??
