pro action on my 18 road king standard front and back for over two years now. Have had progressives in the past. the pro actions are much superior, easy to tune in and readjust for passenger. The company is over the top in customer service.

Pro-Action is only 7 miles from my house so my choice was easy. Didnt really look at the other brands. They are located in Beaver Falls, PA. They custom make/assemble each set at the location for your weight and riding style.

I installed their front and 13" rear systems on my 2016 Ultra Classic I had them set us for 2 up riding but I never make any changes when my wife isn't on. It rides outstanding. My wife is really happy with the change. when you can spend $1500 on the bike and she is still happy, says something about the ride improvement. I would describe the ride as firm on all turns but soft over the bumps. The 13" shocks absorb the bumps easily. The front end does not dive on braking. The front is a little "klunky/noisy" over small parking lot bumps but rides great.

Pro-Action specialized in motocross suspension for years. That is probably why they are able to absorb the bumps so well. They added the harley line as they got older like the rest of us. Dirt bikes make me hurt now a days.

DJ and George were easy to deal with.

I have no experience with the Legends so nothing to say about that. Good luck in your picks.

I’m simply not a fan of the Legends I have in the front of my 2019 limited. For that reason AND the fact George and DJ @ Pro Action are just great guys with a great product, that’s where I’d go.
I also have Ohlins on back. Huge improvement, along with hammock seat.
Ones I got are height adjustable, so I now have 13” travel, which helps a lot.

since I installed the front end, I was hearing that noise, clunky sound at slow speed. thought something might be wrong with my installation. Talked to Dj the other day and he told me it was a normal thing for this setup so I'm satisfied and dont feel like I need to replace with a cartridge system which I was just about to purchase. Preformance wise, no problem and impressed with the tight handling and no dive.

I have both pro action and the (legend without damping ajust). Both good shocks but I would say the legend is more plush.

I hear the word plush referenced a lot. To me a motorcycle is like a sports car and handling /safety is number one. If you also get a great ride on top of that then that is a win/ win. For me the handling of both bikes I have had Pro-Action on is 100 times better than stock. I go into corners I ride regularly at 5 to 10 miles per hour faster than previously with stock HD air shocks with total confidence. I measure ride quality by if, or how often my passenger repositions in the seat after a bump, on or off a bridge or crossing a railroad track. With Pro-Action and I’m sure other similar brands properly setup it is very rare that my wife has to reposition. We don’t try to miss bumps anymore and 99% of railroad crossing are a none issue. To me that is a plush ride. The rear wheel stays planted and there is almost zero bounce up and down with the bike. It’s all in the suspension. The fact that I get this riding single, and two up without any adjustment needed in between is why I am sold on PA.

Another vote for Legends. Soaks up rough roads like you were riding on glass. I don't know if I'd call the ride "plush" since the word reminds me of a Cadillac float like ride, but I will say that the ride is more planted and predictable (?) if that makes any sense.

The handling is more so in the front. Which for me is the suspension technology cartridge's. Stays planted, barely any brake dive and still is none jarring over nasty Michigan roads.

I would probably got Mike's shocks if I had not already had the PA and Legends already. I like that his are not emulsified

I put Pro Action 13" on the back of my '12 Limited. The first pair squeaked..loudly. DJ said it's rare, but it's happened before. He promptly sent me a new pair. They don't squeak, but they still make a subtle binding kind of noise that I can hear when I roll the bike out of the garage before starting it. Never heard a peep from the old stock junk air shocks.
Not all that impressed with the ride either. I expected a big difference, but there was very little. Was leaning towards sending them back, took the wife for a ride to get her opinion as a passenger and she said it was much better in the back than with the OEM shocks. So, after removing the stock system and air lines, installing the first set, removing them and installing the second set, then shipping the squeakers back, it was becoming annoying to me so I gave up and kept them. In retrospect, I wish I would have went with Legends.
