Default Pro Action versus Legend Shocks

I feel like bumps are harsher on my 2012 FLHTK than they were with my ‘03 FLHTCUI100. So I checked DK Products.

I looked at the Pro Action and the Bitubos. The Pro Action are more, but they have a better warranty, and are made in the USA, not Italy. I called them and they told me they could sell direct to any independent, they just need to setup an account. I called an indy with a good reputation near me but he said uses Legends. I want one that I could adjust for solo/2up.

Anybody recommend one over the other for rear shocks? Any handling improvements would be a bonus, I’m mainly interested in a plushier ride. (XTPOINTS).

Legends has a lot of you tube videos that are very informative.Pro action has a few videos as well. These are two brands I had on my radar including ohlins.I don’t think you could go wrong with any of your choices. Both can be adjusted to ride solo or two up.legends you get a couple springs to choose from.I talked with pro action and they have a few more springs to choose from.Pro action has a great warranty.Legends a great warranty.Suspension technologies makes a great shock and I have personal experience with them. But I just purchased pro action shocks from a forum member and I think I’m going to be happy.I talked with DK about shocks and told them my weight and possible passenger weight and they direct me towards pro action. But the Bitubo gets good comments normally.Ive been researching shocks myself and that ended a couple days ago when I bought the pro action shocks.

I don’t have experience with Legends, but I have been very happy with my Pro Action shocks on the rear of my bike.

I used Legends as an excuse to ride to Custer, SD last year and have them installed at the shop in Sturgis, SD. I got front and rear on my 2017 Road Glide. As soon as I rode away I noticed an immediate improvement. With the stock suspension I used to tense up when I went over bumps or lines in the road but it is no longer necessary with the Legends suspension. Ride comfort is significantly improved solo and with a passenger.

BUT I also just sent the rears back to Legends for service because one of the shocks was leaking. They appear to be doing the right thing and fixing the problem but I was not expecting to need service on them so quickly.

Not sure who you talked to at pro action, I bought my setup straight from them. I'd buy from them again just for the customer service and support I received. George and DJ from pro action have been top notch so far about making sure I have everything I need, including the answers to every pain in the *** question I have asked them along the way.

edit: I can't speak for or against legend, just about my experience with pro action.

I went to ProAction initially from stock 12" to 13". Made an improvement for sure. The ProAction Team was great to work with and very helpful throughout the buying and set-up process.

The following season I went to Legends all around, front and rear. Very happy - it's a totally brand new ride.

Specifically in the rear, the Legends are super-easy to adjust and offer three dimensions of adjustment to dial-in exactly what you need. They are more expensive than ProAction, but for me, worth every penny.

Another vote for Pro Action. They are only about an hour away from me, went and talked to them, went with them on the purchase. No complaints, definitely better ride on my 19 Ultra Limited.

I’ve had Pro Action, never used Legends in the back.
I have Howards Ohlins out back now…but I got them for a steal from a buddy trading his bike in.

I’m simply not a fan of the Legends I have in the front of my 2019 limited. For that reason AND the fact George and DJ @ Pro Action are just great guys with a great product, that’s where I’d go.

I can't talk to others, but after lots of research, and many many threads here went with Pro Action. As for having a plushier ride, ask my wife, she loves them. Need I say more........
