Default Handlebar Replacement Cost

15' Ultra - What should I expect labor to be to swap the handlebars at a local dealer? Running wires internal, just the bars, no cables.

I've seen people talk about $600-800 in labor for that job. It's not a hard job to do yourself, but I completely understand some don't like working on their bikes.

The best bet is to ask your dealer.
I would personally check with a local shop too (if you have a trusted one) to check their price.
I did mine on my Road King but there is no fairing to mess with. Also, I think the ignition switch on your bike needs to be removed which I hear is a little tricky, but I could be totally wrong on that.
All that being said it usually runs in the $800 range in my area.

They quoted 6 hours for bars 12” or less on my batwing.

Ended up doing it myself.

It's in the $600 range out here plus parts. I installed heated grips, bars, extended the wires, new clamp, all for about $600 including all parts doing it myself, and the heated grips were the majority of that cost. So if you don't have the parts already you could easily touch $1200 with labor.

I will add that doing the bars is not a fun job and if I could have afforded it, I'd pay to have it done again.

Did my '14 Limited a week ago, ignition switch doesn't have to come off any more (I don't have one anyway) and the fairing is 7 screws and it's off. Super easy job, the most difficult part was threading the wiring through the bars but it just takes patience and paying attention.

Also, if your bike doesn’t already have heated grips, this would be the time to do it.

Three different dealers quoted me six hours so that can’t be far off. It’s not a job for me so I held my nose and paid up. Thankfully the bars themselves (WO 10’s) weren’t pricey. And the bike was in and out in a day and I didn’t have to start a thread “changed my bars today and ……….”

About 4 hours on my 16 street glide, getting ready to do my 20 as soon as my Todd's cycle 1 1/4 10 inch bars get here. No way I could pay 600 for that job.
