More than up, I want them to come back further, and be a bit narrower.

Picked up some pairs of cheap bars to experiment with at a swap meet the other day.

Good advice here. I went with 10 inchers, and then a couple years later went higher. Cost me double because I did not want to change cables, etc. Dont make the mistake I did.

I have an 08 Road king and I believe your machine has the same frame. I asked the same question to the parts guy at the local dealer and he recommended the "Heritage Style" handle bars.that would work with the stock cables. I am also 5'-11" with a 32 inch sleeve length and those bars have worked well for me. I have them leaned back so they just barely clear the tank in full locked turns. When looking at pictures of the late model Kings, the factory bars on those bikes appear to put the grips in the same place mine are now. You might want to sit on a new machine to judge how well those bars would suit you. It has been a long time since the bar change. I don't specifically remember if a throttle by wire extension cord was needed, but I don't believe I needed one.

I must be the exception because I got 12’s and think I would have been happier with 10’s. It seems like my hands are a little too high so I have to drop them to get the blood flow back after a while. Otherwise they are very comfortable and look good. I’m 5’8”.
you want to sell those 12's?
