Check out the Heritage handle bars. Most of the people I know went to them, me too. No cable or brake lines to change. The police bikes come with them stock.
The SE Slip-Ons are GREAT sounding pipes, but i decided to change out mine to the V&H Ovals because I REALLY love the look. I don't have the Ovals installed yet as i just ordered them over the weekend.
I'm going to spend some time this spring listening to bikes at rallies. I've heard you can't go wrong with the SEII's. I've heard the same about V&H.
Can you post a pic of your bike with the V&H ovals when installed? I was curious about the look myself. And I love the sound of the ovals on the V&H website. (It sounds really low and "luggy" in the sound clip, but I don't know if it's accurate.)

Excellent choice on a bike. I have an 05 and I am up to around 5K in addons...so far.
Tried touring pipes....have some for sell now. Switched to Rineharts and love them..sound pretty normal at idle but when you get on it, man there is nothing like it.
Congratulations. I ride an 01 RKC with 30,000 miles on it. Whatever else you decide to change out, save some money for a new saddle. The stock seat sucks. In fact, most Harley stock seats suck. It's so they can soak you for another couple $hundred for a seat you can stand to sit on for a few hundred miles per day. I changed my stock seat for a Sundowner at the halfway point in a 5,000+ mile trip after my butt turned to hamburger. It made the last 2,500 miles a lot more fun. Don't bother trying to sell the stock seat. Every RK owner has one in their parts pile!
I agree with your assessment with the HD parts/sales philosophy. It's all so calculated. The stock seat is not good for a solo rider OR a riding pair, so no matter what you do, you have to switch it out. Why doesn't Harley start out with a real nice stock solo seat, and allow the customer to purchase the passenger pillion of their choice if they want? I think I know the answer... $$$. Still glad to "own" a Harley.
Happy to know you like your Sundowner. I was thinking of going with the Sundowner for RK Classic. How's your passenger like their Sundowner pillion?
Yeah, I have the reduced reach bars, they work great - compared to the RK High bars, the ends point outward at a more comfortable angle. They're also clean looking since they're drilled for concealed wiring. You don't really need the switch wire extension kit, there's enough inside the nacelle to reach.
My favorite mod though I posted originally on another forum, so I'll paste it here:
Get the saddlebag lock set for the RKC (#46316-04) which is stupid expensive at $199.95 (be sure to order it keyed the same as your ignition). Install it as per the instructions, but instead of fastening the straps back to the lid, just drill new holes and fasten them to the bottom part of the bag. Now, to open the saddlebag you just have to press the new button/lock at the back of the bag, and to close, just close them and they latch automatically.
The bags still look the same from the outside, but now the straps are just dummies and you never have to mess with them again!

Thanks for the info and pictures. I knew that some aftermarket companies made locks for the saddlebags, but I didn't know HD did. Looks great, and very practical. It may just be a matter of time 'til I end up with a pair.
I wonder if you can post a picture of your handlebars from a few different angles and include the part # so I know if its the same ones I'm looking at.
