I’ve had one set of rotors replaced under warranty on my cvo sg, they are warped again and I’m not gonna put HD back on. I’m really liking the look of black rotors, any of you guys have any experience with black rotors? Does the black last on high quality rotors? Any pics you guys may have would be great also, thanks!
No 1st hand experience, but was told quality black rotors are black all the way thru unlike andodized that wear thru. At least that's what I was told when I inquired at my local indy. Was concerned about them wearing thru evenutally and having regular steel showing thru. Was also told there are different brake pads for them as semi's leave deposits in them and discolor the black.
I was looking at Lyndall’s site earlier, looks like about $1,000 for rotors and pads, for that money I would want to know for sure that the black wouldn’t wear down.

There is no black naturally occuring metal, it's all a coating of some kind. It's an abused rubbing surface, no matter what it is it's not going to last.
Center mounts might be black but the rotors themselves ? ....

I shot Lyndall a message, before I drop a grand on rotors they will have to seriously convince me that they will stay black or either give a nice warranty
The only rotors that would be truly black and stay black after use would be rotors made from a ceramic material. "If" you could find them. And "if" you did find them, you better have a place close by to sit down and then hold onto your wallet because a $1k price tag wouldn't even begin to be close to their price point.
