Its one of those threads, what is loud for one is not loud enough for another.
Your right until you can ride for ten hours you never know how your pipes
effect the ride. Just on this site alone I read where one guy swears by the V&H
ovals and three weeks later has them up for sell. I hope you trully find the right
pipe, Will keep an eye on ya see if the perfect pipe is out there.
Thanks,
Saint

I tried 4 different setups on my '07 Heritage so I have an idea what I need. I'll keep you posted on these.
I bought Wild Pigs slip-ons off of Ebay, good deal for the price. They aren't too loud at all, actually I've considered changing them since I like a loud exhaust. They have a nice sound on the highway.
Jim, I have finally found out what I have doing wrong LOL.
When I answer a thread I just go to the bottom an answer,
I now know I have been answering the one above and not
the one that started the thread. I will be more careful in the
future.
Thanks,
I had a set of Vance and Hines Ovals installed at the 1`k service and love the rumble and sound they make. . They are throaty but not loud and I can still hear the tunes when cruising. I even like the little bit of decel pop that they generate on occasion. . Its my bike singing to me.
Hopen to find out toojust ordered se street performance one piece slip-ons 80491-07 and se stage I air kit 29773-02c plan on just goin with ecm download from dealer if I can? not shure what the hell I did. Been following many threads and just got sick of stock pipes and air. Dont want loud.[sm=biker.gif]
any one alse do this set up? will let ya know in a month how it sounds
I have the same ones, with the same results. plus the price was right ($320 to $344 depending where you look) J&C cycles had mine to me in 7 days w/free shipping
I have the SE Touring mufflers and they have a throatier sound than stock without being too loud. I'm very pleased with the sound and performance with these slip ons along with my SE air filter and SERT. Cruising at higher speeds sound like stock........when you get on it, sounds louder than stock.
I have the 06 Screamn' Eagle Performance (2 piece)Touring Pipes which were made for Harley by Supertrapp and now sold by them as the Supertrapp Touring SE's; I am experiencing the same problem as you are with these pipes.
A list of quieter pipes recommended by others that I have not heard are: Rush with the 1.50" baffle; Supertrapp 2 into 1 pipe with adjustable disks, S & S, SPO (stainless steel )ovals & the 07 Screamn' Eagle Street Performance Pipes ( I hear the slash downs are louder than the other styles).
