Is there anyway to change the lights behind the gauges on my 06 RGfrom yellow to another color without changing all the gauges them selfs? Ive done a little bit of serching, but cant find anything. They are kindda hard to see at night, would like to brightin them up with another color.
Yes there is, All the bulbs are removable and have colored caps on them, you can get just about any color you want at any electronics store, also I think the HK radio has this too... I an going to change all of mine to blue...
The 2" gauges can be changed easily, but not the speedo and tach which are sealed units--these can be sent to a shop to be done but it is expensive--don't know of anyone who has changed the speedo and tach bulb color.
Harleypingman beat me to it! Richard is right also, you can buy the bulbs anywhere. I've seen them in the Dennis Kirk and J&P Cycles catalogs for abotu $3.99 each, but I'm sure you can get them cheaper locally.
You will not be able to change the speedo and tach. They have LED's that have to be surgically replaced. There is a company that does this for like a $150? per gauge. Don't waste your time buying bulbs if your not going to send your gauges off to have the LED's replaced.

You don't have to change the bulbs, there colored caps that slide over the clear bulb...
I just came from ACE Electronics, no go... didn't have any that would work, stopped by Pep Boys, and low a behold they had them... there Gel Cap covers..
but there 3.99 for two of them... seems like they need a HD logo on em...
Let you know how it goes....
Since I'm going to do the bike in blue ghost flames the insttrments need to be blue also... I think the radio may be a bit of a challenge.. but i'm going to do it... it's just a dam backlight...
