I've measured fuel consumption on some mountain tours this summer where I was riding with a group of people at 60-65mph and was floored when I was getting over 50mpg with my hotrod build. I thought for sure my mileage would go in the toilet with a high perf 107", but the bike was awesome when I kept from lighting the wick. I guess introducing more airflow has a positive effect on mileage when you ride it conservatively.

Climate, riding styles, types of roads, etc effects the mpg. Before my stage 1 change I got between 40 city 44 interstate. After my stage 1 change I get 44 city and 47-49 interstate. I always ride easy on the 07 ultra. Riding styes is the most important. I rarely twist the wick. With the stage 1 I don't have to.

I'm getting 44-45 mpg with mixed riding on my new 2008 FLHTC after 2K miles. That is exactly the same as my 2000 Road King. Something interesting though. I did 50 or 75 miles of 80 mph highway driving on the last tankful and my mpg's actually went up a couple. On the Road king it always used noticeably more fuel. (and that also has a 6 speed, so it isn't the transmission gearing)
