Default Modified y-pipe and 'tork valves'

Was looking for the previous post on the 'modified y-pipe' subject but can't find it. I had reported that I was about to try it, and now am posting my results: I took a 1-5/8" freeze plug and tapped [pouned?] it into the y-pipe as far as I could after removing the left pipe, then tack-welded it. At the same time I installed a pair of so-called 'tork valves', or 'AR cones'. I've been very skeptical about both of these, but decided to try both after trying to tune out a rough spot without success [also without benefit of dyno]. I should say that I've been running straight fishtail pipes with homemade baffles for about 40,000 miles against the advice of just about everybody because of the difficulty in tuning fishtails. But I like them. I also replaced the right side hmemade baffle with a Krome Werks "HP Plus" baffle [looks like 5 ***** made of perforated sheet metal]. I did not change the PC map, just road tested with the changes to the exhaust: rough spot still present but vastly improved. Seat of the pants torque: rounded a very sharp 90o turn down the street from my house which I ride regularly and rolled on the throttle in second gear to accelerate out of turn, giving about the same throttle as usual [I ride this road pretty near every day, it is very familiar and very routine]. To my utter surprise I found myself starting to get sideways! Obviously the changes to the exhaust were quite beneficial. I suppose it is safe to say that my former set-up may hve been so detrimental to perfromance that anything might be an improvement, but the homemade baffles were made by trial and error to make the bike run as well as possible changing from stock mufflers to the aforementioned fishtails, and did a fair job of it, all but eliminating backfiring on decel, etc. I'm happy with the changes, and wish I had done it sooner. Now maybe some dyno tuning might cure the rough spot completely and maximise efficiency.
