My EG Classic engine is stock. Is there a noticeable improvement in power from a stage 1 enhancement? In my opinion the stock engine is lacking - particular in mountain riding.
I'm considering trading for a new Ultra. Do the lower fairings cause the engine to run hotter? Do those of you how have lowers like them? Please enlighten me.
I have the Stage I and HD Touring mufflers on my EG Classic. There is a definate power increase, maybe 10% or so.
What kind of mountain riding are you doing. If you are talking about the Colorado Rockies, the Stage I is going to help, but you will still probably feel a little underpowered at times.
I can top Wolf Creek Pass, 10,000+, at WOT at about 60 mph.
I don't have the lowers, so I can't speak to the heat issue, but it is my information that heat is not a porblem with them.
I felt the same way you do...I opted for a 98" kit, and I have not looked back. I don't downshift pulling though the mountains even when riding 2 up...others I am with will downshift sometimes twice...
I just added lowers to my Road Glide. I had to remove my oil cooler, which I didn't want to do.
I do feel extra heat along my right leg, but I don't think it's running any hotter, it's just redirected
some heat to my leg. After riding with the lowers, I do really like them and they change the
whole look of the bike..
I have the stage 1 jet kit (carbureted) and Bub slip-on mufflers, and I'm actually quite pleased with
the power output. I came from a Triumph Thunderbird Sport, which, of course, is a lot quicker
handling, but power output is actually comparable..
