@Ultra103 Ordering things online can be a nightmare - especially with the crazy supply-chain issues we've had to endure over the last 2 years. Honestly though, Custom Dynamics has been a quality vendor for a good many years and they have outstanding products AND customer Support, if you call them on the phone. I have several products purchased directly from them and have yet to have any issues. I always call first though since I absolutely hate returning crap in the mail because I ordered an incorrect item. Almost always my own wrongdoing.
Hopefully things settle down and we can get back to somewhat of a "normal" routine. Of course, we'll need pictures of the new install and your setup. .
I don't have any issue with being charged up front. It's the deliberate withholding of information regarding backorders that I abhor. It's needless and deceptive. Custom Dynamics will get the money from this sale regardless as I'm already invested in the styling of their product on my bike.
You are mad, and nothing will change that...
But FWIW...
I have received excellent customer service from Custom Dynamics over the years.. They have never failed to provide good after the sale service, including quick replacement of any product that had an issue...
I would only suggest that it's possible they are not deliberately withholding information, but rather what you experienced is an area in their ordering protocol that could use some attention and/or refinement.....
I would really find it hard to believe they set it up that way in an attempt to deceive customers...
NOTE: I see OkieBill and I were typing at the same time... I wasn't trying to turn this into an "I love Custom Dynamics" thread...

Why do you find it hard to believe? They set it up this way to get you to a certain point in the purchasing process, in hopes that since you got that far you wont back out of the sale.
Nothing specific to Custom Dynamics, almost everyone is doing it now and its annoying to say the least.
The supply issues over the past 2 years have shown the many weak points most never knew about. Many vendors were nothing more than website "fronts" for distributors for many years. And maybe at never knew it.
Custom Dynamics has provided me with excellent customer service from answering questions before and after the sale, to product availability.
While you feel slighted by this company now, eventually every company will do something "stupid" and cause angst.
You still ride a Harley?? They do things all the time that is not in the customers best interest.
Relax. I'm sure someone has has issues with what service you provide.
For those of you saying I'm being dramatic, you must be OK with people taking your money for a product, giving you a date that you'll receive that product and then finding out that there was no product to begin with.
I very much doubt that you would be OK with that either. Keep being internet tough guys though.

I didn't before this post, but there was zero chance that CD would not make this right.
