Also, agree w/ others on buffeting as it's coming from above/below. Only way I cleared it on the FLHX was w/ added LRS shield, fork baffle & hard lowers.
I have the LRS shield. It's good for me. AND if you are getting buffeting, take your left arm and place horizontal across your chest when you get the buffeting and see if that stops it. If it does, the wind is coming from below. And I have found the fugly fangs are the cure for this. I hate the looks, but I love the results. Ah well, I have my bike set up for comfort and not looks!!
I was in the same situation when I got a new to me 2010 Street Glide last October. My first touring bike and I was overwhelmed by the wind buffering and knew I would have to do something about it. Plenty of threads on it and I first got the lower triple tree deflector off of eBay but that helped little so next I went with some fangs and the difference is very noticeable that I’m thinking of staying with my stock windshield. I went with these https://www.jescustomaccents.com/Win...ssBlk-06-P.htm because I wanted them in black. Good luck in what ever you decide to do!
I highly suggest getting fork fangs first to stop most of the buffeting. You may not need to change the oem windshield. I'm 6'2" and ride with a 3" wind vest sometimes, but the fork fangs stay on. I have a 7" Freedom Shield (touring width) and it's very nice. I feel like I got my money's worth, and you can test it out & send it back if it doesn't work for you (as long as you leave the film on). There's no distortion when you look through it. I had to look through it to see the road when I was riding through thick fog last week. Buffeting is 95% eliminated for me with the fork fangs and correct height windshield. That's with a full face helmet and visor up most of the time. I get buffeting with a cross wind, but then the visor goes down & buffeting goes away.
Used several brands over the years and found Freedom to be very high quality and excellent service company.
When we bought our 21 SGS I knew a new windshield was a must. That scrap piece of plastic they ship on it is horrible at best.
That said I did not want anything tall to mess of the look. After researching I decided to try KW and WOW they look great and work even better. Amazing how affective their design is. When I took my wife for a ride and she was great with it I knew we had a winner. I then changed the shield on the 17 CVO Limited to KW also and love it as well.
I don’t know of another shield the same size that works as well.

I just installed the KST 10 six bend kickers this week on my street glide. I have both 8 and 9 LRS light smoke recurve shields that I alternate depending on which seat Im running. LRS often runs promotions so theyre affordable enough to have a couple.
