Default Waypoints wackyness

This is driving me BS crazy. So I made a route on the harley planner. No problem. When you use the start and finish it routes you via fastest. Ok I get it. So I drag the line to the scenic route I want to take. It's on the correct side of the road. I even add another waypoint to make sure the route I want gets followed. So it passes my destination and sends me to the waypoint. I know the waypoints are in the correct order. Why is it doing this. IT shows correct on the harley website. But on the bike its screwy. SO I read don't drag the line, make waypoints. Did that, worse. WT hell. Any help GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks
Mike

I can't help, but I tried HD's ride planner and nav system 3 years ago when my current bike was new. My experience with it made me never try it again, and since that time I've never heard anyone say they thought it was any good.

I have yet to use mine but from what have learned you need to zoom in real close and get the way point right on the road or you will miss it.

I was also having an issue with full comprehension of how the Ride Planner works best. Found these YouTube videos by
There are 3 in total...this is the first one. Once you click on it, you'll see part 2 & 3. He explains it better than any other ones I've seen. I haven't had the opportunity to try yet as I watched them over the winter. Hopefully we're a week or so away from riding again here. Will probably watch them again before I try.

Same here. I use Google maps with the avoid highways option if I don't care about the exact route. If I want a specific route, I use Google maps with waypoints on a PC and download the route to my phone.

I use inRoute. And I put a waypoint on the road I want to take at every intersection. Upload to the Harley Nav…and it still skips some waypoints.

WTF?

Pretty much what everyone said...I essentially gave up using HD navigation, it's a real **** show. WAY more aggravating than useful and it never had positive results...The good thing is, it's equally as bad as ANY nav system on any car we've owned. All vehicle manufactures should just give it up and pay Android Auto the royalty to use their system. It works hands down. My advise, give it up and move on.

I was on a long interstate run a while back and my wife at home, on the PC, used Hotels.com to book a room for me every night. As soon as it was booked, I got a notification email and GoogleMap directions to the front door...I was duly impressed. Try that with Harley, Ford, GM, BMW or any onboard nav system.

Your time, your choice...just say'n. You do need the newer Infotainment system though to take full advantage.

forget the Harley stuff. The bike was a week old, i went to new Hampshire and it couldn't find the hotel I was staying at. it gets lost and constantly recalculates. The dealer told me I have to pay for the update. I said its a week old , the said oh well. I said **** you. LOL I ended up buying a Garmin zumo and use garmin explorer to plan an exact route and export/sync to my zumo. no issues.
