Default EBay Backrest

Does anyone have experience with the Driver backrests that you can buy on eBay for around $50 ? I need to replace mine on my 06 RK and oem ones are a little pricey

I have the eBay specials and they work fine. I have the one with the lever adjustments. As long as they ship in the US you are good to go.

I run the same ebay back rest. They can be a little wonky to install (Pushing thru the opening in the seat and catching the ears on the mount) but otherwise its a great product. Best value for the money.

The harley one that I have on a 1998 Road King has a bolt adjustment in the small hole on back.
The one shown in your picture does not seem to have that hole in the vinyl on back for such a bolt access adjustment.
Oddly, it does seem to have a bump-up in that picture exactly at location of where a bolt adjustment would be located.
Mine has a pocket on the back too for storage but the one shown looks like it has a velco lip on back.
Perhaps it requires opening velco lip to then reach bolt down with an allen tool to adjust but then has no storage availability.
Reason: a one time adjustment of angle is sometimes required and storage would be nice.

Why do you need to replace yours?
Did the cover start breaking right at the fold point on sides of back rest?
So now you get to see the white fuzz through broken spots.
If it did..
What I did is I got a single black vinyl sunglass storage bag.
The bag used to slip sunglasses into when you put them away.
Cut closed end open. Then sides where resewn with a slight taper at bottom.
I believe the vinyl storage bag was from an old pair of clear HD glasses.
Taper made bottom slimmer than top.
Slipped over rods and the storage bag tube went up far enough to cover that folding area.
The bottom taper of storage bag tube that was redesigned keeps it from moving.
Flip bag inside out to sew taper and stitch will not be visible when reflipped .
Just takes a couple of minutes.
No actual sewing to backrest since you are only messing with the bag..
The only time you can see broken area is when backrest is fully removed since the cover slides down.
Folks that use reading glasses sometimes have similar bags in a junk drawer so cost in minimal.
The vinyl looks really close to factory seat and does not absorb water like a cloth/micro fiber bag would.
