A white towel will not absorb as much visible light as a darker color would.

This place sells the Cycle Shades, but they also have seat only shades/covers. When I travel into hot climes, I use one of these. It's a thin padding for the long rides.

I just use the Saddlemen rain cover, that way both seats and any backrest I have on is covered

Dont laugh but in the 80s I had a FJ1100 that I had parked all day in the sun at Belmar NJ. My GF at the time I was going to give her a ride back to our shore house and in her bikini ran over to the bike and just sat on it. I couldnt yell loud enough or fast enough in slow motion she severly burned her thighs and butt. It blistered. I had a bottle of water in hand to wet down a beach towel to cool the seat but nooooooooo. Now I sucked for the next 2 to 3 days..... Then she got deported and never saw her again... lolol... So yeah, its a dilema we faced since day 1 of motorcycling. To this day, I still use a towel..
