Forum members , I know several of you bought Howard’s front end kit to convert the older touring bikes with 41mm forks over to 49mm forks . I am asking anyone who did that to please post here. We have a forum member @SnoRider who bought the triple trees from Howard and has the forks arriving in a few weeks . With Howard’s death I am hoping forum members can answer questions and assist him on his install . I have this set up on my 2011 Roadglide and will help the best I can however Howard installed mine for me so I really hope those who did the install themselves will step up and help. Let’s keep this thread to those who can actually help and a place Snorider can post questions and concerns. Thanks in advance.
Installed the conversion on a 2009 Electra Glide using the Road and Track GP cartridges.
What are the questions?
Thanks for responding @SnoRider needs to chime in now , also another forum member contacted me and he has just the triple trees and nothing else at this point. I know the first questions were on the install of the triple trees , do they use their stock bearings, do they need any special tools and any advice. My problem is mine were the first pair he sold and he installed them. I remember him telling me he had to remove something on my frame for them to work but it was not a big deal , newer versions he made changes on so their install would not me like mine. Thanks
@tj316 , do you have access to his house, and computer? Between computer files and workshop notes, he may well have quite a bit of documentation.
No, I live 4 1/2 hours away , his place has been secured by Davie Police. No entrance until legally his sister gets control , she isn’t even coming down she said once she has control she will hire an attorney to handle everything, estate sale belongings and sell his property.
Once again, you are a good man for doing all that you have done from researching, sending a friend north to HM's house, to helping SnoRider and others
with the Ohlin's front-end suspension upgrade.
Karma is real, and you will have good karma in your life for helping out.
Good Morning Guys! I will be ordering my fork legs from Shiny ***** and Carol Burke Monday and will be doing the 41mm-49mm conversion with Howard's Triple trees.

There is a small amount of grinding at the neck of the frame for clearance of the locking pin if I remember correctly
