Hi brothers, I need rear tire. I live in the Caribbean not to many tire shops here, if there’s one found $400 rear tire, is that right? I haven’t bought white walls in like 11 years. Where might I look to purchase online? Thanks and be safe this riding season, I’ve been riding since it got here the 25 of Jan, already 2000 miles on 01 Ultra 29k now. Looking for pinstripe tire 👍🏻
Put your desired brand and tire size into Google and see what pops up. Be sure to check if they will ship outside the lower 48. You probably use the same size I use and I am looking at $200+ for the rear tires now but I choose blackwall. If you are happy with the Dunlop D402 that will probably have the load rating you need, but for any other choice, make sure the load rating is adequate. I like the Michelin Commander II but it was not available in the MU size, the 140/90B-16 77H is a satisfactory substitute. "77" is the load rating, 905 pounds if I remember correctly and H is the speed rating. I doubt you will be exceeding 130 MPH on the islands. If that $400 price is installed, you might not be able to do any better than that.
As mentioned, I'd check Google. Another place are wheel makers like Sinister Custom or RideRight Wheels. They sell tires separately, as you can get them installed on the wheels as well.
I know Sinister Customs sells WWW and black walls. I'd call if they ship to you, but the cheapest are the Shinko 777s and run about $150. They also sell Avons, Metzler, and American Elite. Just select the brand tire, your wheel size and if you want WWW or black wall.
Good luck trying to find the pin stripe. I went to several tire dealers and all were out of stock. They couldn't say when they would ever get them. I ended up switching to black walls.
