Looked at it again now that I know it's the hose clamp and tried squeezing band while turning screw but it won't "catch" the band. Will let shop tighten.
thanks for the posts all. It just didn't register what it was. Guess thinking hose clamps were for..hoses only.
Shop will put a socket to it if it don't go they won't jack with it toss it and replace it. Never hurts to keep a few around. Sucks getting ready to ride out and have one fail.
Up to you but using a 1/4 drive and socket.short extension to snug it up helps avoid slipping and scratching up heat shield.

Thanks man, but will be at shop in 45 minutes.
Besides, the screw justs rotates without grabbing so a socket won't help I don't think. Probably the band in not in the right spot. Np

It's either not connected, or it's stripped. I'm on that pool square. Let us know!
Future reference, all you gotta do is curl your finger around the pipe and push the strap into the worm screw, and start turning the screw... it'll pull the strap in and tighten right down.
Unless its been over tightened and is stripped...
This is basically all you're dealing with..

Thanks. I knew I was going to the shop for something else. Besides, I did wrap fingers around the band tight, then turned screw but it did not catch. Problem apparently was band not even connected! Has to go into slot behind screw or something like that from what I remember.

Hose clamps are not just for hoses, the same way loctite is not just for locks.
Reminds me of the time a few drops of loctite in the key hole can really make that lock secure.
Seriously don’t try it.

Reason: Incase anyone would be stupid enough to try it.
