Well I had my 12" Harley mini-apes set up and I have to say while they are comfortable I am still regretting not going 16" from the get-go.
I'm gonna ride for a while and see if I am left wanting more.
I enquired as to a quote to fit 16 inchers (still waiting on a reply) - if I end up hating the 12 inchers I might bite the bullet and upgrade to16"....

I usually tell people to go higher. Whatever you think you want add 2" lol. I scanned thru ur threads to see if i told you so but couldn't find anything lol. Id skip the quotes, save, money, and do it urself. Ita easy and you get the satisfaction of a job well done
How did you dial-in the 12" vs. 16"...?? This is why you should properly measure for comfort, w/ bar height, over looks/guessing. You already invested once & next one's going to be equally $pendy.

I measured for the 12" with a tape measure but after fitting it still feels a little low- I thought an extra 4" might be perfect....
Different bars vary relative to actual height. Your bars look a good 2" lower than the 12" 6-Benders on my bike, though some of that may just be the angle.
I went 14" and regretted that I didn't get 16". That is coming from a guy who is 5"6', short arms and legs. I think you might even wanna consider 18" if you are taller. You will probably changing the clutch and brake cable anyways so it's not like you are putting a lot more in parts.
I loved my 14" but had hard time reaching for it because of my height. Also, the height itself wasn't high enough to my expectation. So I was thinking about getting 16" that will fix both problems. When angled right higher bar actually comes closer to you.
I'm going T-Bar route now because I like the style, fits my body, and think it will fit my riding style.

You had the dealer pull them back 3-4” after you had them installed, didn’t you? If so, that will affect the height of the bars quite a bit.
