Looking to replace the stock 4 inch windshield on my street glide with one that is a little higher. Any suggestions on what height and who makes a good replacement shield would be appreciated. I do like the dark smoke color.
I have an 8" dark smoked Lexan, CNC machined windshield from American Thunder, an Ebay vendor. Cost under $30. I can see over the windshield, but not get buffetting, and can see through it at night when necessary. I've had it for two years and it works fine for me. For any real change you probably need to go at least 7" and not more than 9" IMHO.
I went with a Clearviewhttp://www.clearviewshields.com/shop...turer.php?id=9 8" shield with the recurve for my Street Glide. Couldn't be happier with the quick shipping and quality of their product. They make everything from a 4.5" to a 18" replacement shield in different tints.
You can not beat this guys prices or customer service.... best to get a shield that is about two inches below YOUR eyesight.... http://www.fastaire.com/intro.html buy a few, very low prices...
6.5" w/ recurve in dark grey from Clearview on my 07 SG. Made a huge dfference andithas avery, very nice optical quality. As long as I don't stretch way up I don't get any buffeting. I'm about 6'1" and was worried that it wouldn't be tall enough. Plus the 6.5" recurve looks awesome on the bike.
