How much does this really matter so many years later with countless other improvements that took place over those 20 years? That and the fact Im not reading daily threads about how bad the later twin cam engines are and how everyone is pining for an 02 in place of their 2010. Would I feel better riding around thinking about a Timkin bearing in my undersized engine with a 5 speed transmission and skinny rear wheel? No, I'll stick with my 2013, its just a much better bike than an 02 ever could be.

Well yeah, as long as occasional overheating, bad compensators, over tightening chain adjusters. suspect lifters (particularly on the 110,) and the occasional scissoring crank on your era bike isn't of concern.
I can always make my early TC faster and a 5 speed bothers me not at all. (And my 150 mm tire is all I ever needed.)
Oh, and I almost forgot, How're those post '08 wheel bearings doing?
The '02 was a fundamentally better motorcycle as far as mechanicals go, and that was what this thread is about.
