Easy bug removal
Straight Hydrogen Peroxide. Wally World sells spray bottles of the stuff for only a couple bucks...at least last time I bought. Spray on, sit for couple minutes and wipe off...they bubble and disolve to goo if not baked on. Have to get them fresh after a ride.
Yup hot water soaked towel been my go to since I started riding, works wonders for the big juicy mayflies we get over in the valley around the orchards in the evenings
After you get them off, address the real problem Which is what is protecting the paint. During love bug season I can take a hose and knock them off the bike and vehicles. True ceramic coatings are miles ahead of anything else that has been mentioned for protecting the paint and the release of bugs.
You ever wonder if the guys saying use a dryer sheet would do that to a Ferrari if they owned one? Peroxide? If they put peroxide on the paint would they put polish on a skinned knee?
The wet towel is a method that also works and no potential damage from it.
Protecting the paint is the #1 concern, if it wasnt you wouldnt worry about them.
Choose whatever works best for you. You paid for the bike, your decision

The wet towel or bug slide works best for me. I normally carry the bug slide on the long trips. Might be just me, but the bike seems to go faster when the front is clean.

I guess if you dilute it enough it works as others have said, but you might as well just use plain 'ol H2O.

When we go on trips I carry a bottle of waterless wash. Spray it on, let it dwell, they come right off. I can make gallons of it for $20. Again, the key is what is protecting the paint under the bugs
PS- Wet towel user here........

I remember reading a thread about this very same subject on fairings over a decade ago back then the consensus was to use the Taco Bell hot sauce.

That's gotta help them taste better, yes?
