With such a large fairing with crevices upon crevices, I would think it hard to get all area at once.
Are you sure this isn't the poor man's method? LolNot doubting it works for you man.
Well you asked for a lazy man's method. Most lazy people are inventive and don't want to use a multi step process. LOL! This works for me. The heated wet towel creates a sauna effect even in the nooks and crannies. It can be soaked in hot water or just placed in the sun. Hot tip I learned from the old guys in the RV business is before a long trip spray PAM on the grill. Nothing sticks to it! LOL!
If you want to get them off easy every single time, just develop a bad case of OCD like me!
After coming home from a ride but before I go for another, I always clean my bike. I just can't stand for it to sit "dirty", so there's almost never a time that my RK is badly coated. The only time I don't do this is on road trips with overnight stays. lol, when I fall asleep on one of these trips, I'm thinking about cleaning it though.
I always start with my air compressor to get the lightly stuck bugs/grime/dust off of the bike. Last year I started using Turtle Wax brand Nano-Ceramic detailer spray, let it sit for a minute or 2, then the bugs would wipe off my windshield fairly easy. It seemed to help a little. This year I tried RainX's detailer upon recommendation from my cousin. On the 1st cleaning the bugs seemingly came off about the same. My 2nd cleaning (& every cleaning after) has went easier, most of the bugs now come off with just compressed air.
This is on my Road King's front fender & windshield, but I can't imagine it not working the same on a fairing.
After I get back from a long ride I need a nap! And my OCD will turn into a 5 hr long detail!

I may try that after I see how long the bug slide can lasts. Not poor but not stupid.
I lay a wet towel over the bugged areas and come back 5 minutes later and rinse or wipe them away.
This! I take a large towel that was soaked with hot water, wring it out, then lay it over the windshield of my RKS. I use a couple clothes pins on the top of the windshield to prevent the towel from sliding down. About five minutes later, the bug guts easily wipe right off. The best part is no scratches or swirl marks on my windshield. No rubbing or scrubbing, the perfect lazy man's method.

Atta boy! Now just substitute the word lazy with the word smart.
I bought this gallon of Detail King Bug Off concentrate from Amazon. Works great, I mix 50/50 in a spray bottle. Just got back from a long ride, I will take some pics of the process
Amazon doesn't have the gallons anymore, but this is the stuff:
