Hey folks, I wonder if anyone can help me out. I recently purchased a gently pre-owned 2014 CVO Road King. The bike has aftermarket bars on them, which are nice, but not my style, I’d like to replace the bars with something as close to OEM as possible, but chrome. I have done a fair amount of internet searching and honestly the options have me confused. I am not a mechanic, so I guess I don’t know what I’m looking for in specs. Sounds like my clamps are probably 1”? Not sure. And, I know I have a hydraulic clutch, but there’s also mention of throttle style on most of the bars I’m looking at.
Additionally, the bars on it have a 14” rise. To go to a more OEM style bar (something like an 8” rise I think), will I need to replace cables, etc?
I can't answer your question but damn. That's a nice looking scooter man.
LOL thanks. Ya, I’m super happy with it. I just don’t love those bars. They are very nice, just not my flavor.
Also, and this is as big an issue as the “look” - in lower RPM the windshield rattles against the bars. Doesn’t hurt anything, just slightly annoying. I think if the windshield wasn’t there, I’d want to actually position the bars just a slight bit more forward. I pretty much leave the shield on 100% of the time.
