Do you have an active subscription? You can do it from your subscriptions page on the website. Or if you don't feel like logging in, there is a link on the main site. There are actually links all over their website for sending a refresh to your radio. You can also call them and do it over the phone
All I do is call the number, use to have to give them my radio ID number (Channel 0 ) and request a refresh, Usually just a few minutes, they say at least 15 minutes with radio on and in an open space. So just go for a ride while waiting. Easy.

don't you have to have the ESN number first so they know where to send the refresh? I have an active account on my car. But I just installed the xm on the bike
You'll have to add the bike radio to your account as an additional radio. Without it being subbed, there's no way to refresh it. If you currently have an active radio, there will be an additional cost to sub the bike radio.. Can't remember how much, but it is less than paying for a full separate subscription.
You should see the ESN number if you go to channel 0. If not, there may be a problem with the SXM module or how it's hooked up. Calling the number on your screen wouldn't hurt
