I am 6’1” and runs 9” longride shield recurve both on my Electra Glide and Tri Glide look over it and let’s enough wind through. I used the same clear tall stock one in the winter
I had a 6 LRS recurve shield on a previous bike and I loved it - it work great!
Recently I tried a couple wicked cheap recurved shield options from eBay - literally - $20 each - acrylic or abs plastic, I cant recall, to figure out what height I like the best on my current bike - currently running a 4-1/2 dark tinted shield and I love the height - the recurve style does what I need it to do, while giving me a completely open unobstructed view - but I have a 7 on the shelf to try
LRS, Freedom, Klockwerks, and other similar quality shields will serve you, once you select the height best for you.
I am 6', so hoping the 8" works, but luckily, I can get them pretty cheap, so trial and error. Once I find the right size and style, then I can invest in higher quality as needed.
I hope so! I bought one of the really dark ones as I don't see myself having to actually look through it, but figured if the size is right, I will also get a clear or smoked one to go with it.
Sign up for the LRS emails, they have a Garage sale once or twice a year and sell blemish shields for real cheap and I’ve yet to find the blemish on mine.

On my stock screen which is around 12 " I would get some buffetting and I had to look through it. So I got a 9 " inch screen and still got the buffetting. So I cut 2" off the 9", making it 7 " tall. Works good for me and I get no buffetting. With the shorter shield you'll get more wind and bugs. No way around that. Screens are easy to cut down, so if you aren't sure of the height, get one that is a bit taller and if you need to, you can trim the height down.
