Default 2007 VIBRATION SOLUTION ?

[hr]
I was on th HD website today and saw that are listing an isolated drive system fix that apparently is standard on 08 models to retro fit 07 models. The part # is 40287-07 with a list price of $305.00 , I been reading a lot about 07's and wondering if this would help?

Isolated DriveSystem Sprocket Kit

Introduced on the '08 Touring models, the Isolated Drive System improves rider comfort and ride quality by dampening the mechanical noise and vibration caused by the engine's torque pulses. The rubber compensation elements in the sprocket act like a cushion, absorbing the power pulses from the engine. With the IDS installed, the motorcycle feels more refined, and is quieter while accelerating, shifting and cruising. Kit includes sprocket, compensator bowl, and installation hardware.

40287-07

IN-STORE PURCHASE ONLY Contact dealer for pricing and availability.

Fits '07 Touring (except Japanese) models equipped with Original Equipment and Harley-DavidsonĀ® accessory wheels. Will not fit with 80-Spoke Laced Wheel P/N 42954-04, Polished Spun Aluminum Disc Wheel P/N 43760-03 or Slotted Six Spoke Wheel P/N 43932-02 (chrome) or 43933-02 (black).

MSRP US $305.00

don't mean to be a jerk, but what "vibration" are you referring too? I believe the general consensus is this is for the clatter issue that some experience on the 07.

Need to fix your post btw, that's a doozy!!!

IDS will only help if you have clatter, whine will still be there and it will not help end a vibration.

Interesting that HD finally "caught on" to this NEW device that metric bikes have used since the 60's - LOL.
