No matter what I try seems like Legend is the way to go. Now I will need to know which one would be the one I will need to spend my money on. Is there advantage buying from Legend directly vs used. I read somewhere they will be rebuilt for free if I have receipt and it is not the case for used pair. Please keep educating me on this suspension matter.

I am also not sure I should go with 12 or 13”? On my 2022 RKS stock is 12” and I like the look while I am not sure it will negatively effect comfort? It would suck to make 1000$ mistake. So if I go with Legend 12” should I expect less comfort vs 13”? I am sure Legend adjusted settings appropriately based on height so if I can get same quality ride out of 12” it would be ideal. Hope someone can comment or maybe tried these 2 to compare I would hate to lift my rear comparing to front as this would look plain dumb.

PS I can’t freaking believe I have to spend 2000$ on suspension upgrafmde on 25k bike this is just ridiculous (yes I was aware of it before purchase) just sucks big time. Since I have my YT channel I plan to document my new Touring struggle there 🤣

I did 13" Legends on my RKS, when you sit on them they set you right at the 12" high and you get the extra inch of travel. Yes, they're expensive but you'll be glad you did. I've had them on my dyna, road king and softail and I'm sure I'll buy them for my new Glide ST.

If you like the Legends, then bigger is better in this case. The 12" will keep the same stance on you RKS. They have a 2" of travel and with the proper sag, the shock length will be 11 1/2". The 13" will give you 3" of travel and with the sag, the shocks will be at 12". So the effective shock travel is minus the sag.

On the other hand, Ohlins has a 12" shock with the same travel as the 13" Legends. This is what I have on my King. Pretty much the same price as the Legends. Up to you.

Would you mind sharing some pictures and part number for these bad boys? i already installed regular RK seat but bike still looks good. Since they are angled on the bike I dont expect they would rise bike 1” (maybe 1/2” which shouldn't be a big deal) and yes extra inch of travel is a lot.

Right. A Couple of choices. 12" Ohlins or 13" Legends. Both have the exact same travel.

Honestly, I’ve never used Legends rear shocks. I have their front fork kits and frankly, they suck. Better than stock? yes.
Worth the price? No.

On the rear I’ve had factory HD air (on my 2005 ultra), Pro Action, Russ Weirnmont RS1 and Ohlins.
Pro Action are very good shocks, great customer service.
Russ Weirnmont…same, good shocks, very good customer service.

Both the above set you back 900ish…give or take.

I have Ohlins HD 357s which, for a big buy like myself and riding 2 up, there is nothing better.
When I have time, I’ll be swapping out my Axeo Legends front end and getting Ohlins NIX as well.

The progressive are good economy shocks. And I wouldn’t touch 12” shocks unless I tried every other things I could and I was short legged/had a hard time reaching the ground.
I’ll take the extra travel and ground clearance. However, MI roads suck.. if you ride nicer roads, it may not matter as much to you.
I always choose form over looks, so a lowered look means nothing to me.

So far it feels I am leaning into Ohlins 12” as these have same 3” travel which would allow me to keep stock height and get same clearance as taller 13” shocks.

Well keep it coming guys I learned a lot already and looking for more knowledge on this topic. I wont lie if I could get away with Progressive shock as starting point as I found one set at 275$ these are 411’s so I am not sure will be even right fit.

Here are a couple Ohlins for Harleys that may interest you. They list them in millimeters:
Ohlins HD-039 - 12 1/4" with 3 1/8" travel
Ohlins HD-776 - 12 1/8" with 3 1/16" travel with adjustable rebound

Default It goes like this....

I just got a 2022 Street Glide, I couldn't believe how stiff they were. I did lots of looking, on here as well.
It goes like this...
Harley shocks
Progressive
Legend
Ohlins.

I ended up with the Ohlins gas shocks for around 600 bucks.
I smile every mile now.
