Angry motorcycle shipper

Do not use aa motorcycle transport company. I had a flawless Harley cvo shipped by them paid over twelve hundred dollars to ship from Texas to Richmond Va . They claim to be a motorcycle shipper they are not they area motorcycle pickup company . They pawn your bike off to a trucking company to haul your bike on a crappy skid, with no side protection . Once they hand you bike off to trucking company they are no longer responsible for your bike . The trucking company CRST did 3200 dollars damage to the bike. And now they only offered to pay half of the claim.I guess they want me to pay other half. The bike was not put in transport mode, the ignition was on for over twelve days, it killed the battery and caused radio damage (Had to be replaced at my cost )to bike .They (CRST TRUCKING) asked for two estimates and pictures it does no good . The trucking company at warehouse that I picked it up at tried to get me to sign a b/l delivery sheet showing no damage . I found damage to bike on their warehouse dock. The guy I bought it from has over twenty picture he took right before bike was loaded and i have pictures on CRST loading dock of damaged bike no question who did damage .

Hate to hear that. I'm sure there are reasons why you didn't go pick it up yourself, but that would have been my first option. Just don't trust others to take care of my stuff in those type situations. Hope it works out for you.

You ever see how Fed X or UPS handles packages ? It amazing that anything gets here and is still useable. I watched the Fed X guy throw a package from the middle of my front yard to the front door. Lucky he didn't break th glass. To lazy to walk the package to the door. UPS driver delivered my new battery and walked to the door only to drop it the last 2 feet to the ground. Just walked up and dropped it right to the ground. To lazy to bend over and set it down.
My son ordered some speaker enclosures for a car and it showed up looking like they backed over it with the truck. Shipping items is the last thing i do if i can not go and pick the item up no matter what it is.

Hope all turns out well for you.

Sorry for your troubles... Your situation really sucks... I hope you had shipping insurance...

I'm certainly not trying to defend the shipping company(s).... However, the elephant in the room that is not being addressed, has to do with the particulars to the bike inspection and loading... who, what, where, and how....

You don't say much about the why it was shipped, but it appears you purchased the bike and had the prior owner ship the bike to you.... correct...???

If so, that leads me to wonder about many details...

1) Did you inspect the bike prior to purchase, or were you "trusting" the prior owner is accurate and honest about the condition of the bike just prior to loading...? Picture angles and exposures can hide a lot of flaws....

2) What kind of damage, other than the battery/radio....?

3) How does the alarm going off, and killing the battery, damage the radio..? How do you know, other than the word of the prior owner, that the radio was damaged during shipment...?

Again, not taking the side of the shipper(s), but I also know there are a lot of people who would take advantage of a bike sale where they get to supply any and all info on the bike, prior to purchase without an inspection by the new owner/agent...

Sorry but the reality is that some people will lie for personal gain... Also, watch any Hollywood movie or check out a magazine photo spread.... Pictures and video CAN lie... they are not always accurate representations of fact or truth....

I wish you luck in getting the bike fixed, but just based on the info you give, I'm not ready to totally blame the shipper....

Curious who is responsible for switching the bike to transport mode? Seller/owner or shipping company? Don't think the shipping company knows how to do that.

Other than a dead battery and radio damage, what else was broken or damaged?

Hatt, not gonna lie, after the first line all I could hear was Jack Webb's voice from Dragnet. But you bring up a lot of good points.
