I have a RK Classic. I just bought a mathchingLeather Tourpac. I see some use the touring bracket and some use one that looks like the Softail bracket. I already have docking hardware from a detachable backrest and rack. I need to know which detachable tourpacmountis better and why. They are both about the same $$
You may still NEED the additional docking\mounting hardware for the TourPak if your current rack was attached to the backrest...
And as far as the Rack itself... You can use which ever you want...
I have used the Older version on my '01 RKC and the newer 2-up on the '07 RG - The only advantage in the older version was when you had it off is would stand up better...
My rack is seperate from the backrest. So I have 4 docking points. I like trhe tube look of the older/softail rack and just needed to know it would fit. The newer HD rack dosent look as good with my saddlebag guards etc.
I like the look of the Tube Style also on my RKC also... As long as it's for a Touring Bike it will work (the ones made for the softail will not work with the touring set-up)...
You will need a rear docking kit for the tour pack rack that attaches to the rear fender struts. It'll use the front mount and the additional rear mount.
