Default Windshield cutdown

I took off 4 inches from the stock windshield the other day and really like it. The stock height was hitting me right in the eyes so I was always trying to look over it to have a better look at whats ahead. I was going to order one that is cut down 4 inches, but thought I would try cutting it myself.

I masked off the windshield with masking tape (just the part for cutting) used a string and a felt tip to draw the line on the tape. Used a jigsaw with a metal blade and then a air sander with 320 girt paper. It looks factory.

Forgot to add that I tinted the bottom half, thought it would look a little more custom, but didn't like it and took it off.

I have been toying with this idea since I got the RK in April. I have always had sport or sport/tourers so am not used to the height of the stock windshield. I am 6' 1" and find the top edge is just a fraction below my eyes. I was looking at taking 3-4 " off to reduce the wind buffeting. Now I will admit that I do wear a full face helmet and find that when I can get the helmet into clean air there is no buffeting or noise.

Planning a trip in early Sept. from here in Ottawa down to Virginia and back through Maine an want to be comfortable. So long story short for those that have cut down the windshield how do you find the buffeting issue?

Thanks
