Default 1996 Road King Conversion???

I currently have a 96 Road King that I want to put the stretched fender and bags on. Maybe a 5 or 6 down and maybe 6 to 8 inches out if possible. This is where my problems start. Is there a way to convert the rear of this bike to accept the 97-08 stuff or does anyone know where to get the bags and fender kits for an older bike. Lots of questions hoping for some answers lol. Also wanna add a newer style tour pack if that possible. First Harley and i'm having to learn a ton.

Sorry, not aware of any sources for what you're looking for. Haven't seen any quality stretched bags down more than 5 inches, most being 4. I say "quality" for a reason. The shop I worked at did some work on a similar vintage RK as yours. Don't recall the suppliers name, but the owner of the bike bought a set of 6 inch stretched bags that were the cheapest looking garbage I'd ever seen. All the paint in the country wouldn't cover all the molding marks and defects, and the fit was atrocious. We refused to work on it with that junk. If you're adept with fiberglass, you might get a set of the bags you want, shape and stretch, and modify the mounting points to make them fit. Be quite a job, but you may end up with a one-of-a-kind setup. .

I've been looking at a lot of the 97 up fenders and it looks like I could just drill a couple new holes to mount them up but I'm not sure. I was thinking if I could do the fender the bags would be easy. The tour pack I think gonna be another project though. Just wanted some input before I spent money

Saddlebags will fit. They hadn't been changed since 1993 through 2008.
