Need opinions on rear lowering blocks for '96 Road King
Hey everyone,
After posting about how to lower my '96 Road King I have decided to use lowering mounts for the rear. Looks like there are 4 companies commonly in use:
RUB
White Bros (found kits for the front but not sure on the rear)
So-Low
Burly
Looking for a 1.25"-1.50" rear drop, using the stock shocks. I'd like to get some opinions on these 4 brands (positive and negative). Also, I would prefer to use steel rather than aluminum mounts.
Thanks for your help,
BK

I bought a Motor-Head lowering kit off of Ebay. It was adjustable to either 1 1/4" or 2 1/4". I am very pleased with the product. It was made out of steel and easy to install. I paid around $85 to my front door. Here is the email if you would like to contact. HAWKEYEX@wvi.com.

You could have just kept your first thread (yesterday) going to get more input...
They're ALL about the same... I have used R.U.B. and So-Low...
Bad about any lowering blocks... You loose shock travel.. If you loose shock travel you have a bigger chance of bottoming out - With reduced shock travel you loose the ride comfort...
Only Good thing is the $$$$ saved over replacement shocks

Considered staying with the same thread but I figured that whoever had wanted to post on the previous thread had already done so. I had a separate question to ask so I started another thread.
I did a search on the subject. Didn't see a thread that asked for comparisons of the different companies. Perhaps I just didn't look hard enough.Or perhaps I have come to believe that quite a few people on this forum are in the same situation as I am and not only needvendor website info but also need the feedback of every day product users such as yourself, someone who has bought and usedthe stuff I'm asking about, and has a real world knowledge of its upsides and downsides.
