Default Chopped Tour Pack -OEM Question

Hey guys doing a bit of research and didn't find the answer so I thought I would post a thread. Looking to add a chopped tour pack to my 12SG.

I see there are 2 mount brackets available
.....one for a solo set up and another for room for a passenger. Does anyone know if you could get a mounting bracket that allows for both positions? Or do you have to decide on solo or passenger right off the bat?

Nice to be able to tour solo and then if I Decide to take my wife I can push the pack back and add the passenger seat.

Thanks in advance.

One or the other, somebody may make one that slides a foot or more forward (from 2-up to 1-up), but it aint gonna be too slick looking

Thanks. Any benefits or drawbacks for either solo or passenger located tour packs? Aside from looks....anything worth noting ?

So that brings up another question.....in order to switch from solo to passenger location.....I guess you would need to attach the solo or passenger mount bracket to the tour pack? Ive seen some guys in here who had both .....thats why i was asking.

They must have to switch mount brackets depending on the setup

yes, there is a different mount for solo and/or 2 up. the solo moves it forward so that you can use it as a rider backrest. it also keeps the weight in front of the rear axle. the 2 up position allows for a passenger and moves the tourpack weight to the rear of the rear axle. depending on how much you have packed in there, you will definitely feel it more in the 2 up position.

they used to make one for the pre rushmore tourpacks but it was a spendy proposition. if you were feeling adventurous, you could buy it, and see if you could modify it to work with your rushmore pack.

it is a touring bike. it will never look like a chopper. Get a tourpak that is useful. One of the best things I bought for my FLHR was tourpak. But if was going to do a little one, maybe get just a luggage rack a t-bag.

You are in denial about what your bike looks like. You look just as dorky, maybe more with a little one. You look more dorky, cause people will wonder wtf are you doing with that little thing.

You are correct , pretty simple , 4 bolts to remove the tour pack and change out the bracket .

Everyone I know that has the chopped or rezor tour-paks use another large bag on the passenger seat while traveling.

I think you really need to decide on utility or looks. The cost isn't that much different. But the king tour-paks are much better for holding gear.

They all mount on the same platforms.

All great stuff guys. I tour solo. Wife only comes on day trips. Just needed something to act as a 3rd spot for misc storage (extra gloves, snacks etc) and easier access. That's why the chopped over the king. I have a top case on my ADV bike and if you overload it with weight I really notice the handling. I csn get 5 days of stuff in side bags no prob. I'm definitely leaning towards a chopped. King is way too much and if I had the space I'd load it up then lose the "flickability" in corners.
