Missed that. Frame differences as well. Probably could be done with enough skilled surgery and money, but worth it?
The 07 bagger frames are pretty much the same as 06-earlier. It has the same motor as the 2012 except that the 2012 uses a motor mount off the front head. Have to use the old top motor mount bracket. Other than that it will bolt in.

Good info.....
I was unaware it would be a straight bolt-in fit....

There have been a couple guys here that have done the swap..
The only other issues will be that the 01 and earlier used a 5/8 swingarm pivot shaft and the later is 3/4. At that point it'd be better to go to the later swingarm and a 1in rear wheel / axle.. It's not too hard to bush the hole it wanting to stay the with original swingarm but they are known to crack at the rear axle. The center of the wheel can be bored out for the center spacer. Bearing ODs are the same. Wheel spacers need change and the caliper mount need boring where the axle slides through.
I've seen a minor clearance problem with the early left swingarm bracket and primary case but others say it's not an issue.
My buddy has a 1994 (or 1996) FXR with a 2016 twin cam 103 out of a Road King. It's gets a bunch of double looks, somewhat of a bastard case, but it rips!!!
It isn't pretty but he does wheelies, smokes the tire every time he can!

I put a early TC bagger drivetrain into a aftermarket FXR and all I had to do was lower the crossover brace under the tranny.. I'd expect that with a stock FXR frame, the rear brake master might need to move but I know a guy that has fit TC motors in FXR frames without mods.. Need a special oil pan tho.

Max,
You are correct. He also had to make a special tranny pan, added some sportier parts for the brake pedal, welded some other stuff, etc. etc. He also added the newer Brembo brakes F&R. I will have to snap some photos to share with you when I catch up with him.
My other bro has a 2019 CVO that's up near $80K including Bike and a ton of aftermarket parts that Brook at Brook's Cycle works in NC added to it. It's a beast of a Touring bike pushing 167 HP 163 TQ. His pipe is holding him back some. Anyway, my other bro with the Twin Cam FXR smoked him!
FXR Weight to Ratio is King!
