I'm too busy riding a working to wash. Look at my bike and it'll make a believer out of ya[]
I just wash and wipe and get on with life. My cousin complains cause he's retired and sits around and marvels at his bike and polishs every little spot, wait, there's another spot to polish...
I've been itch'in to try one of them auto washes, some gas stations offer free wash with fill up. juat think you can get your bike washed and your jeans too. same time. lol
The only time my bike might see a car wash if I were on a really long trip and it was starting to look like a rat bike. Otherwise I wash it myself and actually enjoy it.
When I built my chopper 12 yrs ago, I emphasized practicality. The color is powdercoat, alum. cases and some chrome. I have no problem at the carwash using a shot of engine cleaner on the oily spots and doing the rest w/soap and a rinse. It comes out looking good and air dries in a few minutes on the road. About half the time I give it a hand job at the house.
Sorry misunderstood the poll, I wash by hand and Wax once a month. Seals the piant and makes it shine
It do look good riding if i must say so myself, its black Pearl so the colors never stop in the sunlight
Dinger, If a car wash would short you out, what happens in a sudden downpour on the road. Better to find out at the local car wash and fix it, than in the middle of nowhere.

Whats wrong with a rat bike I only wash mine when the coffee stains get real bad ( nothing like drinking coffee a 75 on the interstate if nothing else but for the looks you get )
