Default M8 Gear Shift Shaft

Need help finding a replacement for 2018 gear shift shaft. Appears the ones I can find end with the 2016 model. Any suggestions where to find a new, stronger shift shaft that wont strip so quickly?

Thanks!!

Quit using the heel shifter after you get the new part in. JUst use the toe shifter part. Sounds weird but it has proven to be a way for the shifter shaft to not strip as quickly.

1st thing I so is remove the heel shifter. Not only does it hit my boot it really gets hammered downshifting.

How does it get hammered while down shifting? Down shifting is done by pressing down on the front shifter, 12 inches away.

sorry, could have worded that better. I was trying to convey the force of shifting downward with your foot. That thing gets stomped on. Upward toe shifting is pretty tame in comparison.

I have watch people stomp that heel shifter for years and then wonder why the thing is stripped. Either the shift linkage at the foot shifter or the linkage at the trans will fail if handled roughly. I always take mine off because i don't like it.

You have to wonder if HD made this the weak link so when it gets stomped on it doesn't do damage to the transmission itself. I guess if the linkage was bullet proof something in the trans would have to give after a while.
Or maybe HD just gets a good price on these things from China.
