Default Saddleman Road Sofa

Looking for some info. The guys that ride with this seat, Road Sofa, how do you like it compared to a Street Glide stock seat/, Also does the stock Road Sofa move you forward towards the bars. I would like to stay in the same position as a stock seat on a Street Glide. Thank you in advance.

I had a Saddleman, I think it was the LS. They are beautiful seats, very well made, and very firm.
I bought it used and gave it a chance but it never got any softer.
If you don't like firm seats, don't even consider a Saddleman.

I have the “standard reach” Saddlemen Road Sofa LS (Lattice Stitch) on my Ultra Limited - I like it tremendously. It does take 1000ish miles to break in. The website states the standard reach seat is the same set back as the oem seat, and For me, I feel it sits me at the same height and set-back as the oem seat, but as mentioned quite firmer, and with considerably added lumbar support over the oem seat.

More info on these seats =

The RS can be purchased with the rider built in backrest - yes, more money, but, if you think you might want that, buy it with that from the get-go - save time, money, etc…

The gel in the seats does warm up - and this generally goes for “any” seat maker using gel in the saddles…..some riders in hotter climates (Las Vegas, Phoenix, etc…) report heat retention in these type of gel seats can become unbearable, so just know, on hot summer days, when parked, park in the shade or throw a jacket, shirt, towel, whatever over the seat to avoid it heating up…..

The gel gives in subtly over time while still providing more firm support over the oem seat.

If you are ready to buy, there may still be Black Friday sales available - PM me - happy to share my purchasing experience details.

I also have the Road Sofa LS standard reach and believe it's way better than the Harley reduced reach seat. The seat breaks in after about 1K miles, as others have said. I went all out and got it with a back rest and heated.

The road sofa moved me back closer to the stock seating position compared to the low seat.

I've researched seats heavily, including the RS.

The regular RS will seat your at the same depth as the Ultra/Limited seat, while the Extended Reach will move you back 2", which is a little more than the depth of the Special seat.

The big change though is the height. It's going to sit about 2" higher than the stock Street/Road Glide Standard/Special seat.

I have a standard 107 2022 RG and am running a Mustang Supertour Deluxe which is positioned very similar to the RS ER. The RS ER is a touch higher and more rearward. I'm about 6' w 34" inseam, and I find the position very comfortable when riding. However, when stopped, or if the bike starts to tip, you'll see a difference in having less leverage since you're sitting higher and your legs aren't splayed as wide as when using the stock seat.

If I were you I’d send the stock Street Glide Seat to Mean City Cycles and have them modify to your liking. Just call them and tell them what you want and they’ll handle it.

I already had them work the seat. Just isnt cutting it for me. I also need a little bigger passenger seat for girlfriend as she has a bad back and the narrow seat doiesnt help her at all.
