I am wondering if the Johnson slow leak down 2313SE is as good as the Wood brand lifter. There is a difference in price and they both have the pin oiling. Anyone got experience or opinion on this?

I would get the Johnson. Odds are you're just paying for the fancy box and a sticker.

Lifter failure can destroy a motor...one of many things of course.

Everything is critical including lifter performance. I have NO opinion of either of the 2 lifters mentioned, but I do have the Wood lifters in my motor, along with their cam. My personal thinking has me telling myself to always go with a better component and avoid economizing inside a motor. How to decide 'better' is often tough and definitely subjective in many cases. I recognize my limitations and defer to the experts...in this case engine experts who use these components constantly, and have a considerable interest in not having subsequent issues.

I've used both. the woods first and had one or 2 that was noisy after 5k miles. swapped in the johnsons and they have been quiet every since..~10k miles on them.

I had Johnson lifters in my 2011 for over 100,000 miles. Never had any problems!

Hylift Johnson. 2313SE or 2313SEL (if you want limiters.)

2313SE here for quite a bit of use and abuse. They haven't bitched or quit on me. I'm happy with them so far.

No complaints with the Johnson lifters.

Another vote for Johnson's. Been in my bike 25k or so and I'll probably replace them this winter just because. I'll definitely replace them with another set of Johnsons and make sure to get them from wfolarry directly...don't be fooled by imitations. There's nothing wrong with the woods lifters either...its your bike and your money so do what makes you feel good.

I have read that there may be imitations out there. I saw some where that Johnson etch their name on their lifters. It looks like Wood mark their lifters also.
