Canbus is very sensitive to wire length and solder proceed with caution.
What was wrong with your original tbw wire? If you have the length just use it. When i did mine I had the length. I just eliminated the green plug. But I didnt cut and solder. There is no need. I just gently crushed the plug with pliers and removed the wires. The wires will come out with it male and female end in tact. Just plug the corresponding wires back together and use heat shrink on each and then a larger heat shrink on all the wires. (Just make sure and identify the wires before you start) I know with mine the wires were not color coordinated.
btw -that link I sent refers to the exact codes youre seeing.
Here's a few pages from the HD Manual about can bus. In 2013 the "main wiring Schematics" took 5 pages, 2015 just 3 pages. Can bus eliminated a lot of wiring, I added the fuse box page from each year.
Ok so I am gonna plug in the old one which has a bad green plug. Meaning the tab to lock it together is gone. So I will plug it in run it holding it in my hand and run the bike and plug in odometer. I will run it a bit turn it off and clear codes if they will. If they do I can take apart the green plug and either do what Weeboy1 suggested or just soder up. I feel I should tell you guys I did this because I installed kst meathooks and where they come to a point does go through that point where the green p[lug is so I dont want a loose connection when I go through this. They are 1 1/2" so there is good chunk of room to go through nice and easy. Also does anyone know if I can do away with the 2 wire heated plug run? Don't have them nore will I .Thank You guys again.
