Ok so I am gonna plug in the old one which has a bad green plug. Meaning the tab to lock it together is gone. So I will plug it in run it holding it in my hand and run the bike and plug in odometer. I will run it a bit turn it off and clear codes if they will. If they do I can take apart the green plug and either do what Weeboy1 suggested or just soder up. I feel I should tell you guys I did this because I installed kst meathooks and where they come to a point does go through that point where the green p[lug is so I dont want a loose connection when I go through this. They are 1 1/2" so there is good chunk of room to go through nice and easy. Also does anyone know if I can do away with the 2 wire heated plug run? Don't have them nore will I .Thank You guys again.
The KST are a nice bar. Good choice. Let us know how things work out. Again, if you can reuse the old cable eliminate that green plug and life will be better. Dont dik around with soldering, theres no need just gently remove the green plug from around the wires. The wires will easily come off and will retain their male and female connection ends. Just simply plug them together and heat shrink them individually. (Just be sure an ID the wires coming in and going out. With mine they were different from on side of the plug to the other.)
also, I just terminated my heated grip wires with heat shrink. No issue.
You could just de-pin the connector and replace the end with the broken latch.
If the wire colors are different take note of the placement, take a picture top and bottom both sides. Pick tool - pin or paperclip Take the seals out of the end and remove the pins Amazon

I believe the OP is talking about the small green plug thats midway in the TBW cable not at the end. If its the same as my 2010 you cant Depin it.
