so for some hp.im looking to do andrews 31g cams HD SE pro 95 high compression piston kit 95 cylinder set HD top end gasket. i dont have the $ to do my heads right now. that will be later.. i just didnt want to pay labor twice with the cams and the 95. will this be aok start-up for 2 up riding. need opinions from the pros
Personally, I would go with the Andrews 26g or HQ34 (Headquarters). If on a budget do Andrews 26g kit from American Classic Motorsports (it includes the 4 gear set that you need, the cams and the cam installation kit). Mine was $533 at the time, but it has gone up. I then had my jugs bored locally for $110 and bought a SE piston kit and SE adjustable pushrods. How many miles on the scoot? I changed out my lifters while I was in there, but if you don't have too much mileage you can reuse them. You also don't need adjustable pushrods unless you want them for ease next time you need to work on it. I had my heads street ported to 9.5:1 (recommended for 26g) at Big Boyz in ME and they were inexpensive. You should do the work yourself and save the labor costs. With this forum and a service manual you can do it just fine. If you want to spend a little more, I would definitely go with the HQ34 or even 39 cam and go with a JE forged piston kit.
