I think the contrast of the gray color help you find stuff down in the bottom of the bag. Also, it ads a little “traction”, so things don’t slide around the bottom of the bag that much. You do lose a little (very little) space as far as cubic inch is concerned, but it’s negligible. I have them, and like them.

Looks like you took a lot of time doing it.I guess I am not sure why. Looks nice. I got lots of junk in my bags, and never cracked them. But the tourpak that came with the **** liner does look nice. The newer black abs doesn't show dirt.
