Default It does get kinda hot

I was trucking up the interstate on the new scoot and it was only about 65 degrees here in VT and low and behold I could feel the heat on my right thigh. I though all you folks was crazyand just whining and thought here in VT I wouldn't have any heat. Oh well, love the bike and can't wait to get the pipes and AC and throw some syn in there at the 1000 mark to cool things down a bit.

The heat is something I have always heard about but didnt fully appreciate until I got mine. Bike runs fine and I guess it can take it just fine, but I bought an oil cooler anyway.

When I first got my Ultra I had a taste of that heat so I pulled the lowers off and haven't had any heat problems since. The lowers have been in a box packed away somewhere since '02.

Is that common sense, or what? Maybe I missed alot of the discussions, but my first thought was that if the motor is air-cooled, and you block the airflow with windshields, fairing, and lowers, then it doesn't have the opportunity to get cooled. Or is my theory off-base?
