along with the other suggestions, fuel management etc, i had to retard the timing a bit under load to pretty much get rid of it.

Fuel Pak got rid of it completely on mine, cost $180.
I opted for the FP instead of the H-D download as it's changeable with future mods...

HD came out with a tourque smooth ecm program flash, make sure your bike has had it done,
it helped my 07 tons!

My Ultra never pinged while stock but once I did the Stage 1 upgrade I noticed a slight ping when hitting the gas at 65mph, especially with a passenger. I was going to go back to my dealer and have them modify the SERT map but I tried 94 octane fuel and the ping is gone.

I think I would call mine more of a knocking. It happened on an uphill grade and fairly warm out. I was running 91 octane but from Arco station I have since only used Chevron os Shell never happened again. Bike was all stock at the time.
