The 07's were known to run lean from the factory. Pinging is NEVER "ok".
I'm sure some of the 07 owners will pipe in, but there are plenty of options to get a little more fuel in there to resolve the issue. You will find that it's worse now that's it's good & hot out.
There are plenty of tuning devices that will help.... PCIII, SERT, TMax, DTT, Cobra, FuelPak, etc.....

If you're using the right grade fuel and it's pinging - Try changing Service Stations... If it's still pinging.... Ya better do the Stage 1 and richen up the fuel mixture.... Ping = Lean and pinging can pit your pistons....

I have no more pinging after the HD stage 1 download. Before the download I did have some pinging depending on what type of gas i pumped. I always used the highest octane available, but noticed on discount brands 92 octane the pinging was worse. Since the download I have had no pinging even when using discount brand 91 octane.

Just exactly is pinging? Is it a predetonation in the cylinder before the piston hit top dead center? What is causing it? Too much gas or or air? Or is it a timing issue also.
